Newton D. Baker, former United States Secretary of War, and former Phi Gamma Delta once said that "A Fraternity is an association of men, selected in their college days by democratic processes, because of their adherence to common ideals and aspirations. Out of their association arises a personal relation which makes them unselfishly seek to advance one another in the arts of life and to add, to the formal instruction of the college curriculum, the culture and character which men acquire by contact with great personalities, or when admitted to partnership in great traditions."

Phi Gamma Delta at Mississippi State is more than a social club. While social functions are an important part of our brotherhood, we strive for much more. Of the three priorities of Phi Gamma Delta, Scholarship is #1. We are college students primarily to receive an education, and high grades will always be rewarded in our house. The MSU Fiji house features a large, quiet study room on the first floor furnished with tables and chairs where brothers can always be seen studying. During the pledge semester, new members are required to complete a quota of 8 study hours each week. Any newly initiated member who achieves a 3.0 GPA or higher their pledge semester will receive a $250 scholarship from the national fraternity.

Phi Gamma Delta at Mississippi State is a place where parents have always been comfortable sending their sons. Parents are always welcomed by brothers at tailgates, meetings, or to visit the house. Parents and family who have toured the house always remark on the friendliness of the brothers, and how much they feel welcomed by the brothers who show them around. Parents will see their sons grow in a place like Phi Gamma Delta at Mississippi State. Please contact us with any questions, and we look forward to meeting your sons.
